Flash Poem: The Timing of Ecstacy

This is a poem in an occasional series that highlights the flash shift consciousness — that conscious open to the astounding wonders around us all the time … yet missed again and again because of our personality-based, ego-driven, tunnel vision — focused on external success.

poem, you can imagine me (or yourself!) awaking early on a cold winter day, bundling up anyway, and traipsing out for a pre-dawn walk:
The Timing of Ecstasy
5:17 am:
I’ve gotta pee. It’s cold outside. Sliver of dawn in the dark horizon calls me.
6:22am:
Sky is shot with red.
6:37 am:
Flock of pigeons circles me.
Look, another batch flies right through them!
6:38 am:
Still circling overhead, the two flocks join!
6:39 am:
To follow their circling, I am dizzy with spinning and turning.
6:42 am:
Phew, on a power line, they alight.
6:44am:
The ever first, iridescent streaming, multicolored ray of star
We call Sun
Comes flooding into my eyes
6:45 am:
Exactly where I am.
